Resilience in Action
Welcome to Whittier Counseling Center’s Youth Mental Health Sevices
We’re proud to introduce Resilience in Action, a mental health initiative designed to support
youth (ages 16–24) as they navigate life’s challenges—including anxiety, depression, isolation,
family conflict, and the stress of finding their place in the world.
Walking With Youth Through a Critical Life Stage
We understand that the transition from adolescence to adulthood is full of pressures. Academic
stress, job uncertainty, shifting relationships, and questions of identity can feel overwhelming.
Resilience in Action exists to remind young people: you don’t have to go through it alone.
What We Offer
Our compassionate team of counselors and mental health professionals provide:
- Early intervention and prevention support groups
- Individual counseling and case management
- Wellness workshops in local high schools and colleges
- Partnerships with schools and community-based organizations
Services are flexible and accessible—offered in person at our Whittier office, virtually via
telehealth, or directly on school campuses, depending on what works best for each youth and family.
Our mission is to build emotional resilience, promote healthy coping skills, and foster
meaningful connection—within oneself, with others, and with the broader community.
School-Based Collaborations
Through a collaboration with LEARN, a nonprofit organization that delivers enrichment programs to students across Los Angeles County, Whittier Counseling Center provides mental health-focused wellness services at various high schools—including interactive workshops, social-emotional learning, and support for both students and their families.
Participating High Schools Include:
- Arroyo High School
- California High School
- El Monte High School
- El Rancho High School
- Fremont Academy
- Frontier High School
- La Serna High School
- Lesdema High School
- Mountain View High School

The Impact
Through Resilience in Action, youth are learning to:
- Face obstacles with greater confidence
- Build healthier, more authentic relationships
- Understand and manage their mental health
By addressing the root causes of stress and disconnection, we create a path toward healing,
growth, and long-term well-being.
