The United States is experiencing a concerning decline in global happiness, reaching a new record low in the World Happiness Report. In the 2025 report, the U.S. has dropped to number 24, falling out of the top 20 for the second consecutive year. This annual report is published by the University of Oxford’s Wellbeing Research Centre in collaboration with Gallup, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and the World Happiness Report Editorial Team.
